"Who's At Home?"
Luke’s story starts with history, a royal decree for all of the world to be registered. The story of the birth of Jesus is out of character for a king. God chooses shepherds to be the first to hear of the birth and the shepherds ran TO Jesus, not FROM Jesus to experience God. Luke’s nativity scene doesn’t look perfect or ideal. That’s not what real life looks like, which is why we can relate to Jesus today.
