Passion comes from the root of a Latin word that means suffering.
The religious leaders persecuted Jesus wanting to thoroughly disgrace and humiliate Him so that no one would want to make Him a martyr. His followers would be so ashamed that they wouldn’t want to identify with Jesus. But this is not the end of the story. There is no middle ground. It is a Yes or No question. Either you believe Jesus is the Messiah or you don’t.
