In 1 Samuel 8, the prophet, Samuel, laid out what the world of the Israelites would look like with a king. They forgot that they already had a king that would guide them more faithfully than any human. Jesus makes us re-think our idea of family in today’s Gospel reading from Mark 5. The Lord’s Prayer reminds us that we are a part of a much larger family when we pray “Our Father”.
