Only Matthew and Luke tell the story of the birth of Christ. Luke’s story starts with Zechariah awaiting the birth of the promised messenger. Zechariah’s prophecy links John and Jesus together. Today’s sermon text speaks about Shalom, which is the peace that only comes on God’s terms. God puts every thing in its place, making everything whole.
