Christ Lutheran Church is a place where people can meet Jesus, engage in life-giving community, and everyone is welcome. We believe in creating a space where people can be themselves, have authentic encounters with Christ, discover their gifts and use them for God's glory. Join us for our Sunday service at 9:30 a.m.!
Curious about us?
We want you to feel comfortable at Christ Lutheran. Here are some common questions that might help you know more about us!
What time is your worship service?
Our worship service starts at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday and lasts just over an hour.
Do you have Sunday School?
Yes! We have Children's Ministry, for preschool through 6th grade, after service every Sunday (usually from 10:45am to 11:15am)! This is for preschool through 6th grade!
Do you have a Nursery?
Children are a gift from God! Wiggles and giggles are welcome. We have a nursery with some toys appropriate for children ages 0-4. We also have a quiet room, with books and a couch, that has a window that looks into the worship space. Both locations can hear the service through a speaker.
What happens during the service?
As you enter the church, a greeter will give you a bulletin that outlines our worship service and lists our weekly church happenings and announcements. Please feel free to sit wherever you feel most comfortable. During the worship service, you will hear music, readings from scripture, prayer, and preaching. At times you may be invited to stand, sing, pray, greet your neighbor, be in silence, or respond in unison. Each week we celebrate the Lord's Supper and receive communion. We trust Jesus' promise to be present in the bread and wine to gift us with forgiveness of sin. Anyone who has been baptized, trusts that Jesus is truly present in the bread and wine, and received formal instruction about the Lord's supper is welcome to commune. If this does not describe you, you may come forward to receive a blessing. Please feel free to see Pastor Chris following the service if you wish to plan for First Communion or if you have any questions. At all our services we maintain the Christian tradition of receiving an offering to support the church's ministries. We welcome your gifts and encourage everyone to live a life marked by generosity. Every gift, of any size, is valued.
What should I wear?
We are a casually dressed congregation. Jeans are okay! Some prefer to dress more business casual! It is not uncommon to see sports related attire, especially during football season! In either case, the joy of worship is that Jesus comes to meet us and speak promises to us.
What happens after church?
It depends! Usually, we gather for coffee and refreshments and people connect with each other informally. Sometimes there is special training for leadership roles in the congregation such as reader or worship assistant, and sometimes there may be a special, fun celebration in honor of an anniversary or important church holiday.
Is the church handicap accessible?
Yes. There are several accessible parking spots in our lot, along with a sloped sidewalk. We also have an accessible restroom. Please let the church office staff know if there is any way we can better accommodate your needs.
Where should I park?
The main parking lot in front of the church, off 56th Avenue, leads directly into the sanctuary. You may either proceed up the steps or walk around the hill up a gentle slope to reach the main entrance. There are a few parking spaces on the west side of the church lot off Lincoln Avenue. Head up the steps, through the door, and straight down the hallway to reach the sanctuary on the left.
